Los Angeles Secret Garden
From the outside this is just a simple home in a low-profile Los Angeles neighborhood. But enter the backyard and you're in paradise. A center fountain grass area is surrounded by what will someday be a boxwood hedge with each corner filled with wildflowers. Framing this area is a decomposed granite path that takes you through one of 3 shade areas filled with lush ferns and flowering tropicals, an herb garden, an area packed with dozens of different flowering plants that take you through the seasons, and my personal favorite - a painted neighbor's garage wall behind colors that make an artistic statment.......Salvia and Lavender in bold purples against bright orange along with yellows that are exquisite against brighter lavenders and maroon Pennisetum. High maintenance, yes, but well worth it.
