HGTV Landscaper's Challenge #1 - Davis
Talk about a challenge! We had to turn a completely dead and deteriorated backyard into something crisp & clean, low-maintenance, bright with color, and sufficient for entertaining - all within a tight budget which also included the front and sides of the house. But we did it and just love the result! And what you don't see is a completely new sprinkler & drip system, full lighting (including path & wall lights), 4 stereo speakers hidden in the garden that look like rocks, and a "basement cover" that turned the once useless side of the house into a convenient place for trash cans. And low-maintenance it is! Though dead-heading and pruning are a fact of any garden, nearly every flowering plant we selected effortlessly blooms all year long.
